80% Finca La Reforma
Region:         Santa Ana, El Salvador
Producer:     Eduardo Alvarez
Altitude:       1500 masl
Processing:   Washed
Varietal:        Red Bourbon

The latest iteration of the East Blend comes to us direct from two very special farms. The Finca la Reforma is a washed red bourbon from El Borbollon, an award-winning farm that has been run by the Alvarez family across four generations for over 100 years. This is the sixth year we've bought coffee from the Alvarez family; their farm is located on the lush green hills of Santa Ana in the west of the country, whose rich volcanic soils and mild climate provide ideal conditions for growing coffee. All the cherries are hand-picked and collected in traditional hand woven baskets from December until March by pickers who have been specially trained to select only the best and fully mature coffee cherries.

20% Fazenda Serra Negra
Region:         Minas Gerais, Brazil
Producer:      Wenefrida Rossi
Altitude:        1150 masl
Processing:   Natural
Varietal:        Mundo Novo

The second component of the blend comes to us from Wenefrida and Pedro Rossi's Fazenda Serra Negra, where they have been growing coffee since 1985. Located in one of the major coffee producing regions of Brazil, it is a naturally blessed farm sitting on roughly 100 hectares. The Rossi family embrace new technology and sustainability principles in their farming practice, working to maintain a balance between environmental preservation and producing high quality coffee. This lot comes to us direct from De Luca Vian, a small business specialising in importing high grade lots from small farms.

Our East Blend is an espresso roast, however it can also be enjoyed as a filter coffee if you prefer to add milk or sugar to your brew.
